Sound Problem with mods

Hey guys , for a while now ive had the magnaflow catback exhaust , and my aem intake. and the tone on my exhaust has been really deep through all rpms. 2 days ago i installed obx headers and obx high flow cat and it remains deep under 3000rpms but when i give it gas it has a tinny sound , and when i do that and go over 3000 rpms its super loud and tinny.

what can i do to fix this , and keep that deep loud tone through all rpms.

please help

thanks guys

There is nothing you can do, a header will always make the car louder and more bumblebeeish.

Youtube videos are not an accurate means of determining exhaust noise. A resonator might help as would a different exhaust (like the Greddy Evo 2) but it will still have some of that ricey sound.

yeah headers always do that, but bigger tubing for exhaust makes it deep. the smaller the pipes are the more high pitch noise its gonna make cause it makes it push out harder...the bigger the piping the more deeper its gonna sound cause it causes it less to push through. i know about piping and exhaust

The piping won't make a dramatic difference and you have to keep in mind backpressure as well. Going from 2.25 to 2.5 won't harm performance but I don't think spending 800$ on a new exhaust that is only marginally different is justifiable.

As i already said bigger exhaust piping will make it more deep sounding. Yes the way the exhaust/muffler is made will give you a different sound. Just go to a local exhaust shop and have them make you a custom exhaust. it'll be cheaper and it will sound good. Won't have that distinctive sound like a greddy, but will sound pretty good/deep. And if you probably get a bigger downpipe for your headers made it will probably sound deep.

the magna flow is fine but you need to get a resonator any will do and have an exhaust shop weld it up the closer to the muffler the better did it on mine with 2.25 tubing and got rid of the pissed off weed whacker sound.
