oil light flashing at idle?

oil light flashing at idle?
After a long drive (an hour or two long drive), my oil light will sometimes start flickering while idling. It turns off soon as I give it a bit of gas. What might be the problem?
My idle doesn't seem unusually low, so I wouldn't guess thats the problem. I changed my oil and replaced the filter thinking this may help, but it hasn't fixed the problem. Any help is appreciated.

I would advise you start with the basics. Check the oil level. You may be burning oil and not know it. Then check the weight of the oil. Too thin oil (too light) could cause the oil light to go off. Check all the misc. crap that could cause oil problems like oil cap and all that jazz. Once you know that everything is kosher, replace the oil pressure sending unit. That might be the cause of your problems, but better to check the "free" avenues before you pay for a new unit.

i'd say pump going bad or oi pressure switch sensor. if pump going thats gonna cost you and it would be the first ive heard going. so id go as cheap as this first 9$ bucks oil pressure switch. over the 240$ plus install for pump. and switch(sensor) you can do yourself its on side of motor. check the wire to it too might of built of rust. one time mine turned on when i drovie by a huge puddle it got wet malfunctioned and i dried it off and worked fine after that. hope this helps. and prices were found on autozone.com

Thanks a lot guys, I'll try to replace the oil pressure switch since I'm not out too much money even if I'm wrong. My dad suggested the same thing also, so I'm sure he can help with the install if it's not as self explanatory as itscypha makes it sound lol
I'll let you guys know if this helps
