Engine break-in period?

I just got my new car and do I need to break-in the engine like dont go more than 60 mph in the next 500 miles? Also don't do hard braking right?

Thanks.

Yeah, the big aim of that article is to tell you to be methodic in your break-in approach. Be consistent with increasing cylinder pressues to seat those rings! You have a small window to do this so plan accordingly.

This is interesting. Just bought my 2008 GTS last week. I haven't been "pushing" the engine but driving normally. The guys at the dealership said to drive normally but not to push "too hard", whatever that means. So gun it every so often?

Oh hi, I'm new here.

One thing to remember. It's your "car" to break-in; not just the engine.
