idling high
When i start my car it is idling high for about five minutes and then it goes back down. it will idle up to 2000 and stay there when its in neutral and then as it warms up it drops back down to the 750-1000 mark. i have an 02 oz rally manual. i have had the car for 2 months but the high idle only started last week.

my car does it to But not for 5 mins, maybe 30 seconds. I believe it has something to do with a faulty EGR. and the car trying to warm itself. (atleast mine was related to that)
Also, a faulty o2 sensor will do that. if u dont have a CEL on, expect one shortly, it should better diagnose the issue

I'd wait for the cel.
You could go ahead and clean the egr too and see if it fixes it.
But might as well wait for the cel.

EGR stands for exhaust gas recirculation, Exhaust gas is routed back into the combustion chamber because the exhausted air is much hotter than the intake air (try touching a muffler sometime). By sending warmer gas into the combustion chamber, the air/fuel mix does not have to do as much work to heat up, and your engine runs more efficiently.
