4g64 swap question

Ok guys, I have an 02 lancer ES and I've researched the site about this swap and have almost all the info I need. I just have a few questions... First does anyone have a pic of there custom motor mount so I know what I'm making. And second cant we just swap the bell housing from the eclipse tranny to the lancers? They share the same case, majority of seals and other parts have the same part numbers and from what I've found every gear except second have the same part number... Minus that and the diff they are the same tranny... So in theory wouldn't it be possible to just swap bell housing and some other misc parts?

yea man its probably possible to swap bellhousings but at the end of the day it might be easier to just plunk the whole trans in vs. taking it apart and swapping BH...

but you have to remove the bell housing to swap the diffs... so im thinking why do all the work of taking apart the trans to swap diffs when you can just do the bell housing. because everywhere ive been reading people are saying to either swap trans internals or just swap diffs... either way the tranny is coming apart down to the gears.. but not with a bell housing swap. you keep your lancer trans and axles and bolts right up to the 4g64

you can swap bellhousing , all the lancer gears fit in the eclipse bellhousing and all the eclipse gears fit in the lancer bellhousing, but I believe you will need both halfs of the bellhousing , its not like you just undo the bellhousing and bolt it on , the bellhousing is parts housing that houses the gears .

if you just turbo your stock motor it would nearly be as fast as an evo. so yeah it would be as fast if not faster than a stock evo. evo has awd and weighs a lot more. they might have more hp but they also have another 700lbs or so

assuming you know how to tune yes. but that will only count in the drap strip really. And then only if you know how to take off and shift properly with it. Being a fwd is very difficult when you reach those kinds of hp.

Sweeet! thanks guys. Now idk if you can answer this question, but If i do this swap I need A New TRanny, wiring harness, ECU, custom motor mount, and some more stuff plus I am getting internals, and I still need an intercooler, and to be honest.... I dont even know EVERYTHING that I need, I still have to do some research, but after all of its done do you think I can pull it off and spend less then 4 grand??? ALSO, Should I just turbo my 4G94 engine with new internals , and all that stuff? I will be happy if my car is at least as fast an evo, so I want to spend the least amount of money as possible while still being fast... Is there a better way to do this than an engine swap?

the engine swap itself is gonna be $2 grand or more. And on top of that if you do the 4g64 swap you might as well put the 4g63 head on it. You should be able to get a 16g manifold for the g64 engine. I dont know whats available for the 64 platform. i dont really bother looking since Im a g94 platform. The cheapest way is to leave your engine get internals and get everything from an evo 8 turbo set-up. You will need a new manifold and a custom mid section for exhaust and a custom oil return line.
