Too much freon is bad for the car , their is a certain threshold.
Very vague post, You said you filled it and did you do it wrong. You didn't say if it worked after you filled it but I'm going to assume if you posted here filling it with freon didn't fix it?
Do you hear the compressor cycle? Any RPM changing ? Did you make sure your climate control knob is actually turning the plastic gears ?
You need to post more info about your car please, might help.
Take it to have it diagnosed for free @ pepboys. Think they have a coupon on their site .
