can someone tell me if there is any tachometer w/ shift light that would fit in my oz rally....or any tachometer would work?

Is the tach really necessary considering the car already has a very visible one? The light will come on when the tach reads a certain RPM which you set. But if you need this tach to tell you where to shift...why are you driving a manual car at all...

Personally, I think you are wasting your money. The car only has 120hp. You should invest that money into some performance mods that will make your car pull just as hard at a lower rpm. That way you wont have to watch a piston fly up through your hood cause you ignored the sound of the valves floating for too long.

The tach. in Lancers is not easy to see, especially when you are racing. Its not like a Porsche with its tach. in the center of the gauge cluster Getting a tach. with a shift light isn't a bad idea. People get them so they don't have to look down at the tach. while racing. I don't know much about tachs. I do know that there are electrical and mechanical tachs. I know that you can't get just any tach. You have to get one that will work with your engine.

I think the tach in the Lancer is hard to see. It must be the way i sit and the way i have my steering wheel set. I have to look down and it's kind of annoying. All I would wan't would just be a shift light.

I don't want to race any of you if you're watching your tach rather than the road. Learn to listen to your engine--turn down the stereo. You should be able to HEAR your shift point.

If you need a light, cool. But a huge tach on the dash is unnecessary.

In a Lancer, it is hard to hear or feel the engine. It is easy to do in an older civic or eclipse, but not the Lancer. Besides I would never want to race you. Your car would kill me.

You'll get used to it. I've driven the OZ Rally and while it was quiet, I didn't think it was *too* quiet. And if you ever upgrade the exhaust (which I assume most of you will) you won't have that complaint anymore.

The one I drove had the tach and speedo signals reversed, so I couldn't use the tach anyhow. Didn't cause me any grief. Not that I drove it much though--just about ten minutes.

A shift light would alleviate your woes without needing a big obnoxious, ricey tach. And you can get a shift light that isn't shaped like a cannon too. This one's cool for a bunch of reasons.

That tach. looks pretty good. Cheap too, compared to a 5" Autometer tach.

Yeah. Style. Never understood this particular fashion. People are driving a car at 80 MPH and they want indiglo gauges staring them in the face and a shift light that'll blind them while they're racing? Talk about a disaster waiting to happen.

To each his own I guess. Personally, I value my night-vision AND common sense.
