black stuff coming out of exhaust?

i noticed behind areas where i start my car it leaves this black stuff, and i looked inside my muffler and noticed little peices of black.. anyone have any idea what this might be? im running wide open except for the resonator.. so im thinking it might be peices of that. just wondering if i should be worrying about something.

Keep an eye on it, if it keeps up you may be opening the exhaust side of your turbo for a cleaning. The one I have was total carbon on the exhaust side except for the area around the turbine, just enough for it to spin. It was used so I have no idea how many miles that took. Just an FYI

It may have some unburnt fuel mixed in. I spit this carbon-filled fuel sludge all the time with my car. I can only imagine what my cat looks like. Guess I'll find out once it's warm.

well i will be removing one side of my turbo soon, so ill take alook and see how bad it is, i have a feeling its farther down the line, because the turbo is really close to the engine and i figure if anything stuff would shooot out the wastegate dump pipe

How often are you stationary with the wastegate open though? Keep in mind the pressure in the dump pipe is higher too, so it may be blowing most of the residue out of the pipe, or it may be buildup from the cat (if you have one).

yea i know, i realized that 5 minutes after a i posted it and i have no cat :\ just the resonator, i hope its not a big deal, it almost sounds like what you were saying, black gunk, and it also looks like peices of carbon buildup, its probably just excessive carbon since i only have a resonator in, it might also be that, whatever the hell the resonator is made up of, i just hope my turbo doesnt have this **** building all in it :[
