Fuel Injector INFO?!
Ok so there are many threads on fuel pumps and fuel regulators and some injectors...BUT
what fuel injectors can we use in our car? also..if im gonna run 5-6 psi intercooled....do i need them? or will a 255 walbro pump and Vortech FMU do the trick?
thank you.
and could i boost 7psi with the just pump/fmu?
THANK YOU!!!

wasn't sure if this went in engine tech or FI....so u can move to F.I. if u feel like it.

I'd recommend something smaller than 550cc's. You'd just be asking for a lumpy idle and a hell of a time tuning. I had nightmares with my 440cc's. I still don't know whether it was related to fuel pressure, faulty injectors or what, but you certainly won't need that much fuel (my system was rated to around 400hp the way it was assuming it had worked properly), and would greatly simplify your life if you went to 300cc's or 330cc's or something easier to work with.

My take on the DSM injectors
DSM injectors = low impedance like 3-4 ohms. My view of the whole thing (because I have a set of DSM injectors in a cigar box that I have thought about intalling many times) is this. Even if you did rig them to work with resistors its going to be sloppy and imprecise. Why? They require a burst of current to open and then a steady flow to stay open (peak and hold). So how can adding resistors to get the impedance to match the lancers of 18ohms (if I remeber right) be the solution? It can't. The ECU is set up to deliver a constant steady voltage which is what the factory injectors (saturated) need to work. So you match the impedance but where is the peak to fully open the injector? You only have the hold, which in my imagination paints a picture of the injector dribbling the gas in a 'sloppy' fashion.

lol so now im stuck....lol what injectors work...i can't afford the 'down time' of having mine sent to rpw... so what are my choices? could i bore them out myself or have some shop do it? or is that just asking for trouble?
im goin to vegas to do this cuz my bro lives there...im sure theres a shop out there that can do it though, i'll ask my bro to look around. thanks guys, continue the fuel general info(similar to turbo general info) as im sure others have the same questions, and than u can just clean it up/sticky it and send all newbies to it

Need a laser drill to bore them out. Not something you can do on your own or cheaply. That hole (or is it 4 holes? cant remember been awhile) is tiny, like a few hairs wide.
