ok so i did a search on the turbo stuff and got this page http://www.turbo-kits.com/how_turbos_work.html (cheaper than RRM)

so once i got the turbo(+intercooler), theres no more airfilter right? then how air is gonna be clean?(didnt finish reading the site)
what about the 3 gauges on evo that i see? what r those?
and what does the timer do?

any other info, please post it here, i would like a better understanding of this mod.

There is an air filter, its just relocated. The timer allows the car to run for a set time (usually about 2 min.) after you turn off the key to allow the turbo to cool off. The only other guage on a stock EVO is a boost guage. If you saw others they were probably air/fuel mixture, and EGT (exhaust gas temp). Also the turbo kit you saw from turbo-kits.com is not a tried and true setup, meaning you may have ups and downs with it.

if you compress air your get more molucules of oxegen in a smaller spot
when there is mroe oxegen you can add more fuel for combustion
more fuel = more power
i knwo its a very crude exsplination but im tired and dont feel like typing

what do u mean by that ? is the car gonna keep running even when i turn the ignition off ?

i went to test drive a SAAB (turbo) it has a turbo guage, its like the RPM, coz when i hit the gas, it goes up and when i let go the gas, it comes down(something like that).
do i need one of that?

If you want a great book on how turbos work and how to implement a turbo system on a car, go find "Maximum Boost". Great read and highly informative.

Lancer-oz. Turbos need to cool down after operation, so if you just turn them off after running hard, you run the risk of letting the oil that's sitting in the turbo coke the journal (coking being the act of oil being broken down by heat and leaving deposits). Turbo timers allow the engine to continue running so the coolant flowing in the turbo to cool it down gradually. 2 minutes is a long time unless you've been running the car exceptionally hard. 30 seconds to a minute is fine.

A turbo boost guage is essential to a turbo system. It allows you to keep an eye on how the turbo is working. You can operate without one, but you really should install one when you install the turbo.

heres what i understand:
turbo timer is what u look at before u turn off the engine right ?
so that u know when to shut the engine off (30 secs, 1 min, 2 mins or whatever)

No, you turn off the key, get out of the car, walk away and it is still running. the car will shut off when the time you set it to is up.

i thought it times how long u've been driving or something.
if it only times the engine to run to cool off the turbo after it's been turned off then thats cool

anything else guys ? how many guages should i get ?

The boost guage reads + #'s when the turbo is pushing more air than the car is sucking on its own. Hence "forced induction". The boost guage is an important tool to let you know if everything is in check with the turbo. You don't want spikes. Air/fuel helps moniter your air fuel ratio's, which is very important. If you lean out (not enough gas) you will burn up your rings or blow it up.

its like this game on PS2, i dont remember whats the name, but i played it, then i overdrove, the engine blew and i had to restart the game

EGT- exhaust gas temp, lets you know if your running to hot (lean or you could crack your manifold).

Most important- Boost, Air fuel, EGT. If you want theres lots of others that are good but not as important- oil pressure, water temp.
