just a quick comment on the racing thing. i don't race much on the streets. (cops are really coming down on us!) but so far with mild mods, the only thing that really spanked me was a Chevelle and a tc Celica. i've beaten a '95 Talon, '99 V6 stock mustang, a couple newer escorts, and a couple mildly modded civics. i find that i can usually win if i get a good start; if i don't it still has enough power through 2nd gear to catch up quickly. i've been quite pleased with the amount of power the Lancer delivers. not bad for a grocery getter!
