gauges
for all you guys that have air/fuel ratio gauges or oil temp or pressure gauges . . . or whatever . . . . did you hook them up yourself? and was it difficult to do?

for the oil guages, did u get electrical or mechanical? i really suggest the electrical type so you don't have an oil line running into the car. but if you still want to use mechanical (if you have it) remember to use some good braided hose to reduce the risk of fire

i dont have any yet - - i was just curious about how to hook-ups and stuff like that . . . and i would def be goin with elec ones so that i dont have to deal with the oil line running into the car . . .

i found a tutorial for the a/f meter for the 02 eclipse RS. i know it isn't the same car or even the same drivetrain but the installation should be pretty much the same. maybe different colored wires or something. refer to your wiring diagram or service manual to make sure

Not entirely true. Many guages run a fuel line right up to the back of the meter. This is why you will occasionally see people with meters mounted on thier hoods. You can easily run the line inside the car, but it's not a brilliant idea.
Autometer offers a fuel-bypass valve that allows you to mount the meter inside your car without risk of leak or fire. It's a good investment.
As for illegal? Here in Illinois, I've been unable to find any law or ordinance that states you can't mount them internally.

what do you guys think about getting a gauge pod made to fit where the ash tray is? . . . im gonna get an aif/fuel ration gauge, but i dont want to put it on the usual spot above the door on the left . . . . do you think rock could make one for that location?
