so what engine is this again? not a 4g63, or at least not one out of a dsm. it's dohc, but it isn't turboed? definately not larger than 2.0. what motor is this?

here's a pic of a tommi makinen evo VI engine. doesn't look the same.

intake manifold is different and bolt holes for exhaust manifold heat shield.

actually, those look the same to me, except for the red vavle covered engine has 3 holes for the heat shield.... and that can be explained by custom header with heatshield

looks as though the heat shield is stamped, so it could be factory. i have never ever seen an aftermarket heatshield on evo or otherwise that looks that factory. also the TM engine has a smaller log type intake manifold as opposed to the 4g93-like intake manifold on the other. the map sensor on the tommi is also in a different place on the manifold than in the swap pic.

without the turbo and having stock ecu parameters, that tommi engine(if thats what it is) is gonna run like crap.

i assume the 95-99 NA only had the 420 engine. god i hope that's not whats in there. i don't think it is cuz i recall that the exhaust manifold on the 420a is setup differently.

chrysler made the 420a motor that was in the 95-99 eclipse rs's...its basically a dodge neon motor
