first question (repeat of zlancer), how do you go through a clutch in a year? i would hope it is supposed to last MUCH MUCH longer than that, even with some abuse.
and why don't you go get an aftermarket clutch? if you are burning out your stock clutch, maybe an aftermarket one will hold up to your abuse. either that or trade in your manual for an automatic.

Try starting in second gear next time. It might help, just trying to help. On the topic of getting a new clutch, if they are charging you 6 bills then just get one from Road Race and save $ on the install. There sight is down right now but I think it was much cheaper than 6 bills.

The ACT 2100 I put in my Eclipse was $325 from Extreme. If you consider labor is generally 75-100 per hour for most shops, $600 bucks is a relative bargain. Sounds like you had an unlucky situation and had to abuse your car, but you are getting off pretty easy. 3000GT VR4 owners will pay $1200 at our shop to replace their clutches.

Like I said...buy and ACT clutch and get it installed for probably only a little more. And most of us said from the beginning the clutch is not under warranty. You don't expect MMC to pay for people to learn how to drive stick, do you?
