A review of the current Mitsubishi Lancer, whose basic platform is used in the Dodge Rebel (name TBD). - http://www.allpar.com/reviews/2002/lancer.html
The Dodge Rebel (name undetermined) - Neon replacement car

Three German publications have said that the Dodge Caliber (same car, different name) would be the small, Mitsubishi-platform four-door sedan that introduces Europe to the Dodge brand in March, 2005.

* The EVO will have a Dodge version, with extensive Chrysler involvement in engineering in the two door version.* -Thats from the second website. Does that mean in the future that the evo may be a 2 door( i dont think so)? Or maybe a less tuned AWD turbo 2 door Srt4? If so... I would be first in line for that car

Personally I would love to have an AWD Evo hatch or something along those lines... super light weight, like 270 hp, AWD and sexy as all hell. Think of a Mini on steroids. I'd keep my Lancer as my daily driver and that as my weekend toy... but a two door coupe based on the Evo sounds good.

It's true, I have a friend who is currently a Dodge employee, and he tells me that the Evolution X will coincide with the release of the redesigned SRT4. They will not in fact be the exact same cars, but will use basically everything from the drivetrain of each other. Technically Chrysler is looking to Mitsubishi for the drivetrain design, and will be using Mitsubishi underpinnings for the next generation of small Chrysler cars. It's not that the Evo is going to be a Neon, but it's the other way around and the Neon will be an Evo. If you guys want an idea of what the Evolution X will look like in production skin, look for concept photos of the next generation SRT4, since Dodge has a tendancy to hide things out in the open. Its what they've done with nearly every car produced in the last couple years, (ie. PT Cruiser, Gen 1&2 Vipers, '02 Dodge Ram, Gen 2 Durango, SRT4, etc.) as it is currently, i'd prefer to see a cross between the two different concept ideas. as long as they go as far as possible from the bird-like Evo VIII look. My favourite Evolution to date is either the VII or IX.

Daimler Chrysler has a controlling share in the company but has cut off the cash flow and Mitsu Motors has gone back on the Mitsubishi parent companys tit. I have heard on some financial sites that the parent company is trying to sell off Mitsu Motors because it is the poorest preforming Japanese automaker and constantly needs cash because of low sales and bad loans.
