So I take it everyone who's posted here has emailed OBX???
Hmmmmmm???
And RobertK, I almost spit my drink all over my laptop. That was freaking funny! I would never trade my car for a Civic, though I think its kinda cool that I could probably build my own from Pep Boys parts alone.

I've seen them advertised in mags before, but never on TV. In fact, I haven't seen really any aftermarket companies on TV. Their site looks pretty high tech, and they supposedly make quite a few products for the Lancer, which don't exist. Oh, and they don't answer customer emails.

I'll say it again, OBX is up their in the echelons of "high end junk" with APC and the like. How many more parts do you need? You've got every intake you could need...maybe jump on Greddy to manufacture a header. I tried getting Crane to make a camshaft and other head tidbits. Don't know exactly where I'm going with this but there's not much else left to get from any of the truly respectable companies. Eibach, AEM, Greddy, Kaminari, Tein, JIC, Magnaflow (RRM section), Progress etc. The situation is no where near as bad as it was when I started the parts index. Which speaking of needs to get updated *kicks self*

I think one of the major advantages of getting a lower-end company like OBX to produce parts is it makes the high end manuafcturers lower their prices to compete. Unlike most of the people on this forum, I'm not willing to drop $550 on a Greddy cat-back, nor am I willing to drop $160 on a short-throw shifter.
When I had my Civic I bought an OBX short shifter for $45, which included a shift knob and new bushings. That is a worthy price for a piece of metal that's a little longer than the stock piece of metal.
The whole point is price competition. The only reason why Greddy can charge so much is because currently they are one out of two companies that sells a full cat-back system. If OBX came out with one, they would have to drop their price by at least $50 to stay competitive.

livelyjay was reading my mind. i know obx may not be the best product out there, but not all of us can afford the best. not to mention, most of the good stuff out there is extremely overpriced. i think most of us are aiming for "good quality, fair price" range, which is pretty much the same reason most of us got a lancer in the first place.

No it won't all fit. Mirage things involving brakes and springs from the 1.8L 5G Mirages will fit the ES Lancer. Intakes should fit without to much hassle, but other than that, no. The cars have much in common, it's just getting everything actually fitted to find out that's a problem.
