Unhappy I hope this isn't true!!

Here is a quote I found on the i-club.com forum:

"The Mitsu reps at the car show said that the EVO will be around $32-$35K, and put out around 250HP in full trim. The AYD will be an option, but not too sure at the present time. ETA January 2003. "

I hope it isn't really $32,000+ AND AYD optional. That would be bad move in my opinion having it so pricey and not making the AYD standard.

yep

I saw that..I hope it comes out somewhere in the 25-29K range. If it comes out at 29995 base price and they make things such as the ayd optional the price will start getting well into the 30's. Lets just hope it is basically the GSR with only a few avail options and under 30K as promised.

Do not believe what you read about the evo on i-club! I mean its a wrx club of course they are going to be in denial about the evo coming with all its goodies for a great deal.

I just think some of them are trying to play down how great a car it will be. Everyone was so happy about getting the WRX, and it was king of the hill for a while, but now that Mitsu is countering with the EVO, I think it leaves somewhat of a bitter taste in their mouth. But competion is good for the U.S., we have had a merket dominated by SUV's for long enough, let's hope the import scene spreads it's wings a bit more attracts some more main stream buyers, it can only get better from here. Finally car companies are paying attention to what we all want.

Come on guys - Let's not think that EVO's are going to be around $32-35K. As stated it will be below$30K ( i.e. $29,999.99) - Just kidding. But seriously i think is not that dumb when it comes to marketing these evo's considering they have to compete with Nissan Z's, Subaru's, and some other car manufaturers, With that kind of price range average people might be thinking of getting Mercedes, BMW, etc....... Let's just hope for mow that it'll be around $26K(base)-$29K(loaded).

On the EVO's there are ACD(Active Center Differential) and AYC( Active Yaw Control)...
