Question So you have $40,000 what do you buy?

If you had $40,000 budgeted to spend on a car, and availability wasn't an issue, what would you get? Let's say for simplicity sake you spend 30 on the car and have 10 grand for aftermarket upgrades...

It's a valid question. I'm considering 3 of the 4 as my next car, altho the Evo is pulling ahead at the moment. I'm not going to make a final decision until I drive all 3. (not the RX8)

The fool who voted for STi, better show himself.
Cause I'm about to strip the person naked, dip him/her into tar and throw him/her into a barrel full of feathers. And then chase you out of town or this board. Who is with me, lets get this fool, you gonna die man!
YOU GONNA DIE!

If you have $40,000 you could be driving a Jap spec Evo VII next month. I wish they would announce the specs on the US car so I could figure out what it will take to get it back up to 320hp? Will it just be 1500 for a programmable ECU or is there more. I'm willing to pay an extra $5,000 grand to have one now. So the question is $30,000 for an Evo VII US spec plus how much to get it back to Jap spec hp more than or less than $5,000?

Evo 7... with years of aftermarket parts/upgrades and a well known platform for performance...this would be a good choice.... well other than that a second hand corvette Z06 would be a good one too with 405hp stock and a good following of aftermarket parts too......it would be a good choice for around 40K.......add FI to the LS1 engine and hear it roar....

I would also consider S2000 with turbo charged ($7-9k, 12.5 1/4 miles)
or supercharged (under $5k, low 13s)

I haven't heard of a turbo for a S2000, but I have heard of a supercharger, its from Neuspeed. Its pretty cool, I believe pumps up the Hp to 300, but torque still suffers.

Comptech makes a supercharger for the S2000.

Actually, you would be better off with a single turbo setup.
