Performance Part Review

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...61#post2089961

I think this is a good idea.
Pro and Con to any performance parts you have.

Ebay CAI

It's crap. Makes some sound and little performance. It has a cheap air filter that rusts and brakes easily. And also it has no support bracket on the bottom so after a while it ruins the welds making a big hole in the assembly.

Ground Fusion Grounding Kit

It does exactly what it is supposed to, good price, and good quality, and good support if needed. The car idles smoother, fuel pump isn't as loud, lights don't dim when I hit a powewr window switch.

Buschur Racing Catback w/Magnaflow

Sounds awsome, gives more top end power from my butt dyno at 3200 rpm and above.

AEM CAI

Does exactly what it is supposed to, again above 3200 rpm, but combined with the catback it screams.

RMR Front Strut Bar

RDD Rear Strut Bar and lower tie bar

for excellent quality and price.

Kartboy Short Shifter and shifter bushings

Sweet is all I can say.

RRM SRI
Great sound, a little more performance, and a reasonable price, around 140$, also looks great under the hood

RRM Header
Car pulls strong through the mid to upper RPM range, worth the cash especially if you get it on sale, around 340$

RRM Bored Throttle Body

Better throttle response, a little more umph in the mid to upper range

RRM Front Strut Bar
Stiffens the car up nicely, it seems to dive less into the corners, around 90$ and a must have

Progress Sway Bar with Autocross Perches
Car rides like its on rails, all ES guys need this desperately and I'm sure OZ guys should have it as well

Kartboy Underhood Shifter Bushings
If you drive stick, don't ask questions just get them, shifts are precise and stiff

Lancershop Short Throw Shifter with Energy Suspension Base Bushings
Another must have for manual drivers, shifts are fast and snappy

Ground Fusion Grounding Kit
Lights don't dim when you brake, idle is smoother, brightens up the engine bay

K&N Typhoon SRI
You can feel the added power in a matter of seconds after the install. It's pretty big also, the cone comes right in between the battery and the engine, facing the front of the car, which gives it lots more air than the SRI's tucked away behind the battery.

JDM RalliArt Grille <- (Off Topic)
Just awesome, makes the care look 10 times better than with the stock thong (nothing against thongs on a beautiful girl, but not on my car )

RRM Slotted Brake Rotors & AXXIS Ultimate Brake Pads
Again, just wow compared to stock. Stopping distance is way shorter and you get a better response when braking. They do create more brake dust and they are noisy (especially in reverse), at least that's from my own experience.

Check out my car in my profile for pics of these mods installed.

RRM/Split Second Piggyback

Easy install, great results. Car pulls harder throughout all rpms. Feels like it really kicks in around 2500 rpms as opposed to the stock 3500rpms.

RRM STAGE II CLUTCH
no slip clutch grip

RRM LSD
best thing i have ever invested in

RRM K-Bar
pleased with it, install took longer than it should have, good product either way

Clutchmasters Flywheel (RRM)
rev's quicker, not really necessary without a turbo

Porterfield Carbon Kevlar's
saved me from 3 accidents , great products, stays cool in harsh conditions

Centric Slotted Discs
good product, comparable to any other performance rotor, nice grip

B&M Short Throw
very stiff, shift knob stripped a bit after shifting like a jerk still a nice investment

Autometer A/F Guage
nice light show, useless without wideband

Iridium IV Plugs
good spark, nice response, fowl like a ****

Gound Control Coil Overs
just that...coil overs, not bad for the price, easy to adjust...thinking of changing to Tein's though

i've got a new g94 IM and magnacore plug wires coming in, i'll give you an update on how they are when i install them

K&N Typhoon Intake

noticeable power gain and sounds great. Looks good in the engine bay since it comes all the way to the front inbetween the battery and valve cover.

Injen CAI - Good gains up high and nice sound. Bracket borke because it was from the first batch and was put in a bad area but they have fixed the problem with them now.

RPW jet coated header - Awesome gain when installed. Only had a problem with the jet coat peeling off. Not sure if the jet coat was worth it.

4g93 intake mani - much lighter, more mid to low power, sounds like a bigger engine under your hood.

Greddy oil catch can - keeping the mani clean.

Borla turbo muffler - nice deep sound and quiet at the same time.

Magnaflow resonator - made the exhaust sound even more deep and quiet than it was.

Megan racing short shifter - dont waste your money buying the b&m for $50+ more. This one works just fine.

Injen CAI- looks and sounds great, I definaltely noticed an improvement in hp and torque

RRM piggyback- a must have for anyone without a turbo and even those with one. Big improvement in power and torque all the way around

NGKR iridium plugs- seemed to improve the smooth idle and fuel economy, a little smoother power.

B&M short throw- does its job nicely feels great with the Greddy shifter knob

Kartboy brass shifter bushings- a must have for the gear slammer

rrm kbar- looks nice and I am sure it helps a little

magnecor plug wires- don't waste your money

small K&N type filters for the manifold and CAI just makes it look a little nicer and keeps the intake manifold a little cleaner.

rrm testpipe- no cat without the rattling noise and a little more top end hp

2.5" mandrel bent stainless from the test pipe back to the Ractive carbon fiber canister- sounds "tuned" not rattly and bumble beeish, nice low tone.

215-40-17 toyo Proxes- helps in the corners

Hand made ground kit - smoother idle and less electrical strain

$800.00 worth of dynamat extreme- keeps the cabin quiet and free of rattles but does weigh the car down a bit.

still undecided on the header, anyone without a CEL with a header and test pipe let me know and I will get it
