It's official...I BLEW my motor.

so yeah...this really sucks. no ride, no cash, and no time to do an engine swap. 2 cylinders are not firing at all, plugs are saturated with fuel, etc. the whole nine yards....the best part of this story is the engine went out at idle! i'm at 65k on a non-boosted and well maintained engine. i'm kind of bummed out

i'm running a compression test either tonight or tomorrow. i'll post the pitiful numbers.

mark

turned on the AC at a traffic light and the car started shaking real violently and sounded like a tractor. turned the AC off and puttered into the work parking lot a block away making almost no power. managed to get it home later that evening...car is back-firing like crazy, not making power, shaking irratically, OBD II scanner did a freeze frame with the idle at 371 RPM's...no joke.

lets just say i'm a little upset. i'm going to geuss that the car is upset with my frequent road trips to see my girlfriend 3x's a week (110 miles round trip)

2 are good. the other 2 are literally dripping in unburnt fuel....the car smells like like it's spitting gas out the tailpipe when it runs.....what can i do? sh*t happens.

Are you going to put the 3rd engine in yourself or take it to a shop?

My timing belt broke off on the highway the other day, just driving along. Mitsubishi and pep boys both took part in an engine swap about 4 months ago b/c of a town flood , and someone forgot to replace my timing belt. u gotta love how good some peoples luck is huh.
Im waiting for my window tints to cause my tranny to fall out next.

probably drop it at a MotorWorks. supposedly they pick up the car, do the swap, and bring it back for like $1400. i don't have the time to pull the motor right now. if the semester were over that would be a different story.

Welcome to the club. 1400$ isn't a bad deal for a new motor, just gotta take the time to reinstall all your mods (assuming your not out of the game now).
