Proper jack procedure

Proper jack procedure
Allright... I know how and where to jack my car. That's not the point. I'll most likely be bleeding my brakes this weekend and I need somebody to press on the brake pedal. That involves having somebody sitting in the car will the car is jacked. That's where my face comes into play.
Is it safe to have someone sitting in the car while only 2 wheels are off the ground(front 2 wheels/rear 2 wheels)? Or is it mandatory to have all 4 wheels up and the car sitting on 4 stands?

^^^Have you tried continously pressing up and down on the brake pedal with your hand before??? Didn't think so...Not an easy task.
I'd say it'd be fine, but you should really get some jack stands...

okay, this is what you do.
Pull the hand brake up. Position jack in front of the car and lift along the safety bar that' runs across the transmission. lift there and get both wheels in the air. don't worry about the car moving or anything. This is the safest location to jack up the car and it'll save you alot of time. You girlfriend can even sit and get out of the car w/o you having to worry about the car falling or anything.
Hint:: Make sure you lift the car on a flat surface:::
U can get the jackstands and stick them in there so you could remove the jack itself. but it's not really necessary.

I decided to finish removing the paint off my wheels the same day, so I finnaly went with the 4 point lift. The procedure was a breeze.
For those who don't already know, here are the proper jack points for your Lancer.

Thanks for the diagram, but the jack point with the big red X won't work for our cars because we don't have AWD. What jacking point are you guys using to lift the rear of the car before you slide in the jack stands?
