K&N cone air filter size?
Alright I'm looking to buy a k&n cone air filter from this website http://www.horsepowerfreaks.com/pric...part/Universal
but they give a bunch of options for different sizes that you can get. I'm just wondering which one would fit my 02 lancer es with the ebay piping and still maintain the same look as my set up currently has? thanks for any help

Those prices dont look any cheaper than other dealers. Go to Ptuning.com and you will see what I mean. They have a picture of the filter as well, but if you talk to the sales rep they should be able to tell you what size you need.

according to the K&N site, the RU-4730 filter is used with their typhoon intake system... Here is the info on it:
http://www.knfilters.com/search/prod...x?Prod=RU-4730
Hope that helps out...

didnt u just say you got your piping from ebay? thats worse than autozone. besides from the looks of that pic, your filter is so close to your hot engine that the power loss is probably alot worse than the stock filter. you need to tell us how big the piping is too. its prolly 3 in.

My reasoning for the position is that the air coming into the grill can be easily taken in by the intake due to the location of the cone, thus location the cone behind the battery seems inferior to this setup to me. And yes the piping is 3 inches in diameter.

See below. That's the prefect size filter ducting is mandatory (vents through the front fender, reduces intake temps by 30-40 degrees depending on speed and ambient temps).
