What could cause this other than alignment?

I went to change my rims the other day and after I took off the back, I noticed how uneven the treadware was. I got an alignment already as well but nothing felt wrong before except for a whirring sound while driving on those tires.

Is bad alignment the only thing that could cause wear like this? And if it was just alignment, wouldn't it wear the entire outer surface unevenly instead of in integrals?

if you're lowered to much they'll wear like that. with non-adjustable camber on our cars, and alignment won't really do too much for that problem

from the sound you said it is making it may be rubbing somewhere... whats your offset and take a pic with the wheels on you car from the side and on the ground straight at the tire from the front.

Maybe it's the way the tire is? The interval looks perfectly even. Maybe there's less rubber on those patches?

I've never seen anything but alignment/rubbing cause that...

Yeha that's what I mean though why would it be an interval? The part where the steel belts show is almost 1/2 an inch lower than the spaces inbetween. it feels like this

I was first gonna say tire pressure but that would either wear the middle or both outside corners. Hard to say. thats crazy tho.

what size tire is that?

and looking at the consisten pattern of the wear, it seems like it was hitting against somethin in the wheel-well

its a 215 thats prob part of the problem, itll hit the inside of the wheel well under hard cornering. plus ive never had very good luck with kuhmos.

215/40 should be okay... i was running 225/50s for a lil while with minimal rubbage... with the grooves it definatly appears its hitting something... have you stuck your head in the wheel well and looked for undercoating rubbed off?

yea it's definitely not the size of the tire that's the problem here.

have you crashed your car in anyway in the past? if so, it's a camber issue. your alignment wasn't done properly... that's the conclusion i can come up with.

no not recently. I had the alignment done AFTER changing the tires. I'm running new rims and tires now and would like to make sure it doesn't happen again, but I got an alignment with these new tires. Could it be my bushings at all?
