Nitrous talk

Hi there, Im new to the forum and i was just wondering if any of you pump nitrous in your car, besides filling the bottle it's a cheap way to get the hp gains you want on the track. I got a 75hp shot on my NOS system. What kind of HP gains have any of you tried on you lancer motor w/ stock internals?

nitrous + stock lancer = boom

be very very careful using that, overwhelming majority of folks on here who have tried it needed to get a new engine before too long

the common theme has been people who like the extra power, and keep wanting to push it just a little bit more. as long as you show restraint you could put nitrous in the 3-cyl geo

What shot are you running? Also, how often are you using it?

I'm guessing it's a tiny shot, which kinda makes it pointless. Plus, when are you going to use nitrous, on the streets? I hope you come from a rich family cause I don't think cops would be too happy about that.

Yes, but the pistons are 800$ and install is probably close to that again. So you'd be spending 1600$ just so you can play around with some gas that isn't even close to legal.

So what does it feel like when one engages nitrious? I am sure it all depends how much is going to flow, the set up, and when it happens.

^^
I havnt been in a car but from watching shows like "pinks" and watching a lot of racing its almost like when boost kicks in. Its just a boost in horse power that is very sudden.

you need forged internals but the thing is, The 4g94 is a bored out 4g93. The block is so thin that it cant take the spray in large doses. (I read this in a past thread)

I wouldnt reccomend using it on our motors at all. My buddy uses a 75 shot on his 2.2 ecotec but that motor is very well built. Its cool to ride with him when he uses it and it works very good but its a no go in our lancers.

see, the way i feel is that it is just as safe as a turbo, seriously...your just gaining instant hp another way, any stock motor can pretty much handle a 75 shot, or so says all the nitrous seller's sites.

On another not, Actually now that i'm thinking, do you guys get any torque steer, cause man when i get on the throttle my car wants to jump a lane to the right, I got wider rims and tires and it didn't help a bit.

Thats why i have a remote bottle valve, nitrous is legal to have if your bottle isn't open, and i try not to race on the streets too much, well on streets that can be easily watched by the po po.
