In the end, would it really be worth it? You're talking about thousands of dollars just to make the car look JDM. Hell just the front bumper will set you back 600$ with shipping, then you need the side skirts to match (if you buy them from a JDM source I'd wager 300$), rear bumper will probably be the same as the front and then there's the rear lip. That would be over 1500$ just on the exterior. Interior wise you'd need to switch the car to RHD (easily over 1000$ right there), then you'd need all the JDM interior goodies like the navigation (which won't work anyways), and I'm sure other things. Then you'd need the wheels which if you get from the dealership will be over 1000$ guaranteed. Right there you have over 3000$ just to make a car look JDM. If I were you I'd keep it simple. Get the cedia front bumper since it looks great and just use the stock skirts and rear lip since you can get those used on here for pretty cheap. Interior wise you could just upgrade to the evo recaros and for the navigation just go to a stereo shop. Wheels wise you have a lot of options that won't cost an arm and a leg.
I'm probably wrong but I figured that the USDM OZ skirts would match the JDM front skirt fairly well if not exactly, the MX bumper isn't any lower than ours, and the skirt is just shaped a bit different, but appears to be the same size.
Interior wise, it wouldn't be too bad really. Cedia's have pretty much the same seats as USDM Lancers, and RHD is a bad idea anyway, and I don't really think you get the "Look" of JDM by swapping which side you drive on. Function of JDM yeah, but it'll look the part just fine regardless of which side has the wheel and pedals. I've found a few less expensive places for the factory alloys, and I only mentioned them in case he wanted the car to look like it was JDM stock with no mods. I didn't mean to suggest the jdm navigation, cause I knew it won't work here. I was trying to imply that you get any small navigation screen and system that works, and fit it into the clock mounting point. It'd actually have to be smaller than the JDM to fit with our hazard light placement, unless you wanna try to relocate that(I'm thinking to the steering column). Anywho, cost prohibitive-ness aside, the question was, what was required to make it happen. The answer is given, and we all know that it'll cost anyone who attempts it dearly. I'm not gonna argue weather this is worth the cost, because to me it isn't. I guess if he likes the look of the JDM stock lancer cedia, then to him it may be worth the money, I researched, and decided to go a different route.
It's up to him weather it's worth it or not, and if he's willing to spend the cash on it, I'l gladly provide what info I have to help him find the parts he wants to buy.

I got to admit I'm soft on The JDM Cedia Ralliart wagon. I don't know if I'd want to recreate the whole thing or try to bring one over But... I could see it's rear bumper and a couple other parts on my Sportback real easy if I had the funds.

I dunno, if you go by technicality, my ES was built in japan and shipped here, I'm sure some OZ's were as well. Mitsu's web site has a VIN number information page that tells you a few nifty things about your car such as the factory it was built at.

Japanparts replies
Yeah, I kinda wanna do some of that to mine, but I wanna get rrm's evo VII front conversion because my crash bar's bent and I don't wanna buy another, lol. I think your biggest problem will be finding the bumpers, as Japanparts doesn't seem to actually sell them. I think the car would look cool this way, too bad we can't get the AWD as well.
Just so you know...

That's a pointless statement, if he wanted an evo, he'd be looking into saving for an evo. He asked how to make his car like a JDM non-evo lancer, getting an evo doesn't answer that, and come to think of it, for once isn't a less expensive alternative.
JDM cedia exterior look = $1,500-$2,000-ish
Buy an evo = $25,000-$35,000 depending on year, condition, trim and dealership
And let me re-iterate, buying an evo would not solve his issue of wanting a JDM-look US Lancer, it would solve the issue of him possibly wanting an evo. If he wants an evo, then by all means you've answered perfectly, but if he wants a JDM-look Lancer, that's not the way to go.

I'd heard someone bought the ones for the cedia bumper, turned them upside-down or something and managed to fit them into our bumper, but I'm not sure of the specifics of how they got it to fit or if it fit well and looked good once done.
Edit: Come to think of it, Japanparts.com has a set of Hella fog lights for both the MX and SE(same shape as our bumpers, should fit) for sale, granted they're more expensive, and unfortunately they don't look as cool in my opinion as the JDM fogs that fill the entire hole in the bumper(the ones who's fitment in our bumper is iffy at best). Granted I wanna use that hole in the bumper for a ram-air inlet, so I don't want fog lights there myself.
