02-03 Lancer OZ vs 08 Lancer DE
#63
Personally, i would take a stock 08 Lancer over a stock 02-03 Lancer any day of the week. I have an 04 right now and never really fell in love with the 02-03 models. Of course, modding our cars both performance and looks wise will add to their attractiveness. I admit there are some really sick modded 02-03's however the 08 has only been out a short time now. Im sure that with an equal amount of money you could mod the crap out of an 08. When this happens, start a new thread and then compare. In my opinion, get over it, the new Lancers are in fact badass and maybe shouldnt even be compared to older models. Its not fair

I agree completely with Nike, you can't compare the lancers. All you're doing is comparing an infant to a teenager. I'm in love with my 02, but the minute I saw the GTS, I was hooked, I am doing ALL that I can to acquire one of the 08's, but it's blowing up in my face, but I love my 02, and refuse to sell it, and have decided to give it to my g/f. It's my way of keeping both, but you can not compare the two.

Ummmmm
Let me see here ummmmmm OK I will have an 08 with a New CAI on the side and a new cat back to drink.
08 is a sweet ride but all lancers are nice once u mod them but fresh off the lot u have to admit its the best looking lancer stock

well, fresh back from mitsu, and i have some notes. i just test drove a new 08 ES 5-speed. first off, i will say i hate the clutch... feather light.. like its not even there... i gotta have a clutch that pops out at ya, short play and agressive. performance was... ehh. it just doesnt feel like youre gettin near that 152 hp. and im not a big fan of MIVEC. it just seems like theyre pushing too quickly through the rpms without going anywhere.
now, i admit its faster than my car, yes. but i have an 02 thats paid for. i just cant justify spending the money for, in my opinion, a slight upgrade.
as far as looks go, i think its looks great. smooth lines with an agressive front end is always good. and yes, it does look better in person. but make sure to stay away from the DE. i was looking through the brochure, and the DE has drums as opposed to the ES having rear discs. 4 wheel disc=good.
2 quick questions, whats the new engine code for the 2.0 MIVEC, and whats the deal with a sport shift cvt tranny?

4b11 is the new engine code for the Lancer and the new Evo. I am personally curious as to what Mitsu is going to do to the 4b11 for the Evo and if we will be able to reverse engineer parts into the DE, ES, or GTS. I am also curious if the new Ralliart will have the 4b11 or solider on with a variant of the 4g64.
