I dont see why they wouldnt be able to swap parts its the same motor but, the question is what will u be able to swap that is freindly and what will ur warranty say about it?????????????????

swapped parts might be friendly, but the dealership will not be. there's just no way you can turbo an NA mitsu and expect the dealer to tolerate it

I was talking more about the bore and stroke. Like swapping pistons and rods because im pretty sure that the DE and ES and probably the GTS are not going to have the strong internals that the X will probably have. But IDK maybe they will be identical internally. If thats the case then its just bolt ons and ECU tuning.

Body wise I would say that that the 03 OZ is much better than the 08 DE - however, I am biased. In terms of performance though, the 08 DE has more to offer and those paddle shifters are quite nice indeed.

It will be interesting to see if anyone tries an engine swap between the two and if it is even do able - I could see them becoming popular in a few years if they are easy to pull off.

The 08 looks like a nice car while teh 03 to 07s look like ecomo box POS's this is the first none evo lancer that willl get respect on the road and not laughs.

i think the o3 lancer is alot better lookin "lancer" than the new 08 but i rly think that the 08 is a better car but its not a lancer lookin car the lancer look is the boxier look and the 08 has none of that look they have changed the hole look of a lancer in this car the 08 is not a lancer but if they wuld change the name and not use the lancer name it wuld def b a better car idk if u get wut im saying but yea

cant really compare the 08 vs the 02-03 cause theres not many aftermarkets out there yet. the 08 isnt the traditional style, but i like the 08 style better. sorry oldschool lancers

I must admit the new style is growing on me now that I've seen it actually up close and on the road. It's a lot wider than I thought it would be and the front end looks fantastic. If the new ralliart looks like that, with AWD and turbo it'll make me think twice about my car.
