08 Lancer VS. 06 RA
Can a stock 2008 Lancer GTS beat a 2006 Lancer RA. If my numbers are correct the 0-60 time on a stock GTS is 7.65 and on the RA it is 7.5 so depending on the driver is it safe to say a 08 will out perform a 06 on autocross and with the right driver in the 1/4 mile with only a 2.0L

Depends on the driver as well as overall car setup.
EDIT - Reopened at the Original Poster's request. Please keep arguing to a minimum.

Most of what you are going to get here is opinion, but what the hell... if it's up to the driver in a AutoX situation then I'd go with the 08 due to the suspension set up. That's if the driver skill level is the same.

I think based on the numbers the RA would win. It's lighter (1325 kg vs. 1375 kg) and has more hp (162 vs. 157). The race would certainly be close though and a decent driver would play a role.

and not to down rrm , but they say that about all of the intakes, lancer oz, ralliart, tibby, all of them. Now in the race between the ra and the gts I would have to say it's the RA not because I have one but because it's more likely that you'll not be going against a stock one , they have been out abit longer and have more parts currently ,I think odds are against you .....imo

EvoM test mule from Mitsu - ES with manual tranny
142.1 whp, 143 ft-lbs
See there HP rating of 152 HP is off there is NO way you are only losing 10 HP from crank to the wheels! I wounder what the true HP at the crank is 160-170?
Thanks for the post SHEEP RRM
And the 04 RA was rated at like 165 HP and it was only putin 134WHP down. So mitsu has low balled there HP rating for the new 08 Lancer.
The frame on the 08 is 50% stiffer then the EVO IX with MacPherson struts and RRM'S ES was .02 seconds slower then a STI at the Gymkhana road course. So there is now doubt in my mind that the 08 would blow the RA off the course. Mind you I have owned an 02 OZ, 04 RA, and now the 08 GTS. The GTS turns some much harder then my 04 ever did with little to no body roll on stock sport tuned suspension.

Only reason i wanted to know is cause where im from the RA guys seem to think im driving a "lesser" car when in all honesty i dont think you can really compare the potential of the 08 to the 06 RA being that the 06 RA.......... doesnt have any. I am just sick of RA guys thinking im driving the same thing as the old ES.

That is why you put in a Short Ram Intake, and a new back exhaust, all from http://roadracemotorsports.com/ ... learn how to clutch well, what rpm to take off on, and smoke em. If they keep sayin its a lesser vehicle, then they shud have no problem taking it on in a race... legal.. that is.

The GTS is too heavy of a car. Don't expect much at the wheels. I don't think Mitsu has "low-balled" their stats.
Are you serious?
You don't think 10hp is reasonable loss from crank to wheels is crazy talk. Of course you will lose that much, maybe a bit more. Can someone explain this to him.
