How Long OEM Battery Last ?

Yer, so how long did your stock battery last ? I think the OEM battery in my '03 is about to go, the blue indicator is black even after I charged it.

I changed mine after 5 years and it was still going strong when I replaced it.

Answer - it depends. If your battery is acting up, then it's time for a change.

I've noticed my indicator is black too, but I have yet to notice a starting problem. PLUS, I'm pushing a 1400 watt stereo system through it since '04...

Yer, same here, it died while I was driving, not a very secure kind of feeling.

I changed the stock Nippon Denchi GS YUSUA 550CCA battery yesterday. Best battery I found for the cost and performance is from COSTCO's Kirkland Signature Group 35 P/N: 8 640CCA which are made by JCI(Johnson Control Inc.) can't be beat for the cost, specs and the peace of mind that a new battery brings when you hit sub zero winter months.

My battery is still the OEM one. I bought this car off the lot on August 2002 and my battery has not yet given me any problems. I'm currently deployed to the middle east though, and I'll see how it goes when i get home this fall.

Almost 5 years. Deader than a doornail this spring but it had sat all winter in the car and not started. Didn't accept a charge either. 5 years is pretty good. Was surprised to see it branded as Panasonic.

Not really, unless you ran your system a lot with the car turned off. All car electronics run off the alternator. The battery only exists to start the car.

^Not exactly, the alt. obviously charges the battery...but the more "draw" you use during operation the longer it'll take to recharge that battery (and sometimes won't allow for a full recharge). And especially if you drive short distances alot, this'll shorten the life of the battery.
