The recharge kit comes with a cleaner and a lubricant. There are pretty easy to follow instructions on the bottles. Basically you spray on the cleaner and let the filter sit for about 10 minutes. Then you flush it with water, from a tap (not to hard) in opposite direction from the airflow. This is to get out embedded dirt particles instead of driving them in further into the filter. Then let it air dry, which might require you to leave in alone over-night. Then spray on the lubricant, let it soak for a few minutes, reapply as required to cover the whole filter (you don't want areas on the filter to dry out and crack). Finally, reinstall the filter in the car. As I said, you get easy to follow instructions with the bottles.

$10 at Autozone. Use only K&N cleaner and charger oil.

Just an update I cleaned and re-charged filter and man it looks brand new and super easy to do. Weird how the filter turns white from the cleaner and how the oil is red and makes the filter look new.

Do as I do with my HKS SMF's and that's everytime you change the oil. At least you have it cheaper...

My car had about 10,000 miles on it and filter looked dirty so I pulled off and cleaned. The re-charge kit says to clean at 50,000 and 100,000 miles but that seems to long to wait imo.
