His pics were from two different clusters, thus the lighting could make a difference. I'll take a pic of my OZ cluster, where I only scraped off the Tach.

I would love to find some that let me do an overlay over the entire thing as one big image.

Well, that sounds convoluted. Here I'll explain via photoshop:

Obviously not with that picture, but that's the general idea.

I had a different image in mind that I drew up one day. Don't have it on the work computer but it would be more subtle. That image could even theoretically work if the opacity on the image were bumped and blended into the BG more.

Back to the topic on scraping off the yello film in the back...

By scraping off the film, you will create uneven distribution of light, since the back has dark and light spots.
As you can tell from Zack's pictures, it is dimmer around "4" on the tach. This is because there were "black mosaics" behind other numbers that are closer to the light source to reduce the brightness. So by scraping off the yellow film, which includes the "black mosaic", it will create uneven distribution of light.
Let me find the pic, I'll post it up in a few min

Have you done this? I am planning on doing this sometime soon since my lights are pretty dim.

I've only scraped off the yellow film behind the tach so I could compare it with the speedo. and there wasn't much of a difference. But now it's dimmer around the "4" on the tach.
Pic of the back of the gauge face will be up in 2 min

See the black mosaic? if you scrape that off, light will not distribute evenly.
