Hearing this story hurts my heart But it only makes sense, the Kia is 1,000 LBS less and has about the same amount of horses and ur Lancer is automatic while his is a five speed.

nice race or not race
but lancer engines sadly are easily outperformed
As for the evo beating the vette, stock vs stock the vette wins but an evo can beat a vette with very little money put into it or with a good driver just some DR's, unless its a z06 then hes toast.
may i ask why your getting cams and a head and have not gone turbo by now? or some higher compression pistons atleast.

Ok with that OT junk out of the way, let's discuss the lancer versus the rio. First off, the rio doesn't weigh 1900 lbs, depending one exactly what model it is and what year it is is could be anywhere from 2100 lbs to 2400 lbs. Obviously this still gives it an advantage over the lancer since it weighs a few hundred pounds less with a comparable power level. In an autocross I'm not sure how it would perform, again the weight would be an advantage but the suspension may be too econobox to work well.

Autocross? Stock Rio v Stock Lancer? Stock Rio. Even if comparable mods are done, Rio still wins. Lighter and smaller. Smaller gets a lot of people out of "trouble" when they're about to make a mistake on an AX course- ask people who drive Minis. Econobox suspension is really not that bad on course until a damper starts to go out. AX tuning is like anything else- change one thing and you kinda have to change a lot of things... I digress.

I'm not really surprised by this, I mean, we all know our Lancers lack alot of power. Nice to know what else we compare to though, ya know what I mean? Another comparison for you guys, my OZ with a cone filter, header, and cat-back exhaust stayed neck and neck with my girlfriend's stock Honda Fit, with her using the paddleshifters. I really want to autocross both and see which car is ahead when the dust settles.

I have an manual 03 OZ rally with Injen CAI, minus the last cat on exhaust, and a good set of Fuzion HRi tires and led a friends auto 04 Civic Ex by a good 2 car lengths. ****s and giggles.

Ah, I see...
"2000-2001 Sentra SE with the SR20DE , which has 145 hp and 136tq ,occupied the top of the line Sentra until the SE-R's came out in 2002."
I thought the SE-R's had that same engine while the SE-R spec V's had the 170ish engine.
Thanks for saving my car an embarassing moment.
I'll leave those kills up to the Ralliarts!
