CAR TOWED, can that damage the car?

I went to eat at Samuri, a restaurant here in South Florida @ The Falls shopping mall with my GF and best friend. After we ate we were leaving and when I came out I was walkign to my car and my car was... MISSING. A white Audi RS4 had replaced it!!! I couldnt believe it. My stomach flipped i felt like throwing up, when the thought settled in that my car was stolen. The problem was, the last few days iv been looking into Lojack and GPS tracking devices for my car and into a Pager alarm system! So I was devasted! I was speechless, my GF and BF, thought I moved the car because my alarm was chirping so I went back to check it out. But I never moved it. I remember the security guards hispanic male+female just chit chatting away (I thought not doing anything) but they were.... I told him, SIR, my car was stolen from right over there and you were here? His reply was, it wasnt stolen. It was towed.
He never made eye contact and had an arrogant attitude. I was furious and i spoke to the gentlemen, mid 40's, hispanic, and i was telling him why did he not warn me when i even walked by him, he shrugged off my question as if he didn't hear me. He basically ran up to my car copied the tag, called the tow truck and within minutes it was gone. ( I saw this happen several times as I was waiting for my car!!!!) It began to rain, and as much as I wanted to warn people about them I sat on a bench furious, staring @ people's cars getting towed.
If you ask me they have the worst job in the world! I mean, HOLY crap, you literally dump peoples lives upside down for at least the first few minutes until you realize you car was TOWED not STOLEN. Even then i was furious, why not tell me something! And then people got upset said a few words to him and his response was to smile and wave back. I don't know who he thinks he is, but I can only imagine he's going to tow the wrong persons car and hes gonna get whats coming!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ( for having such a stupid attitude)
Anyways guys. My fault. Signs are everywhere. Been there before several times but to the plaza itself. Didn't think much of it.
The parking lot was full, so I parked in the adjacent parking
Yellow- Where i parked my car.
Green - Where the 2 security guards were parked and saw me walk by 2 times! (when i went back to check my alarm!)
Red line - Wire in bush/shrubs prevent you to cross through them to get to the restaurant.
Purple - The path we walked to get to Samuri.
The red outline is 3 red wires running through the bush preventing you from parking on the outside of the restaurant and walking over to Samuris.
There are signs everywhere stating no parking for Samuri restaurant... I never read them. . Its stupid! But I swear I will never shop in that plaza again!
This is the path where my car was towed. I even witness one guy get as mad as I was when he realized his car was towed, he flipped the birdy and cursed out the security guard, who smiled, laughed and waved back (a-hole) .
I had to pay $101.00 to get it back. Lost an hour of my night, but thankfully my car wasnt stolen.
But how bad is this for the cars? I had my car parked in front end first. E brake was all the way pulled up! (roads were a bit wet so I imagine the car came out easier when it was pulled out.) it wasnt a flat bed, just a regular tow truck with the cross on the back. and is there anything i should be aware of or check? I did check the outside of my car, everything did look ok.
I know its the guys job. Its paying his bills. But I was still upset. Just extremely frustrating to **** away $101 for nothing.

when they tow ur car they open it up and take off the e brake. if u have an evo they have to use a flatbed since it is all wheel drive. ur car should be fine. just look for scratches or any physical damage to ur car

!? they open it up? I didnt notice anything missing, and the outside looked the same. I just washed i today hours before going so it was easy to look it over. but what total bummer.

my dad worked for a tow truck comany. they dont always open the car. just depends on the situation. sometimes its not needed. but urs is front wheel and had the ebrake on so they had to take off the ebrake.

i dont know about opening it up....i have seen wreckers just drag the cars with the e-brakes on to where ever they need to go. i doubt they break into cars to move them. they dont care about dropping the brake. also, who knows if they even used a flatbed. again, they dont give a crap about the car, its not theirs. and if you dont have a sticker or something to show that they need to be flatbedded, i dont think they are responsible for any damage. the owner is
plus his car is a lancer not an evo, so this doesnt really matter to him.

it doesnt matter if its a evo or not if its in gear and ebrake is on they aint gonna drag it all the way to the impound lot. he said it wasnt a flatbead. trust me the car was opened. one u would have a brake fire if the wheels didnt lock up. and if they did u would have bald spots in ur tires. im sure the tires would be smoking and screaching if they did that. they definately are responsible for damages.

Everything was in my car if they did open it.
I just have this overwhelming feeling as if I was robbed!
