Insurance on Lancer OZ?
Hello everyone. I am 20 yrs. old and I'm doing all I can to purchase a 2003 Lancer OZ (yellow). I can make the payments of 260 dollars/month , but the only trouble I'm having is with insurance. I'm just curious as to what everyone else pays on this car?
How old are you/who is it registered to? (yourself, parent?) and what do you pay per year?
I have only one accident under my belt that was 2 years ago and I've been quoted 3-4 grand by quite a few people.
Thanks...

I priced what my insurance would be when i get my lancer and i was quoted at about 200 a month. that's with one wreck and me being 21. at 22, the insurance provider i'm going with gives a small decrease. plus, i lose the wreck in december. that should hopefully kick me down quite a bit.
vince, that's pretty low for CA, do you own your own house?

Mine is $475 every 6 months for full coverage. The car is in my name. I am 22, married, 1 speeding ticket 3 years ago. I have a multi car discount and a multi policiy discount (about $90 off total). Mine is through State Farm. I have heard that your credit rating is factored into the price. I'm not sure if that's true or not...

Insurance companies will tell you that credit doesn't affect your rating, but it does. bad credit will make your insurance more expensive, etc, but having a good insurance record doesn't affect your credit history.

insurance figures that if you have a bad credit history, you're gonna have a tough time paying bills, so why not charge you more! it's so simple. if you can't afford your bills, you should be punished by paying more than usual! insurance doesn't affect your credit history any more than paying your cell bill or your telephone bill

I pay $238.00 per month for full coverage. I'm in Canada though. Im 19. Right now I get a discount of 10%. Gain 5% a year every year you don't have an accident up to 40% discount. Its fairly expensive but if you get up to the 40% discount its not to bad.

I'm 20 and I just got a quote from the insurance company.
I have one minor accident under my belt, drivers ed, and good student.
They want 3200 a year and thats if the car is in my dads name and I'm just listed as a driver.
They want over 6500 a year for the car to be in my name and insured to me and everything.
So the payments for insurance would be more than the car payments either way...WTF.
And they want 8 grand to insure an EVO under me, and 3700 under my dad. How does this make sense?
Looks like I'm not getting my Lancer.

it would also be good to say where you live too becuase that makes a big difference i live in las vegas with full coverage 100/300 coverage, rental and towing and i pay 225 a month. i am 22 not married and no tickets and that is under my parents insurance. if it was mine i would be paying around 400 a month easy. interesting thing also is my parents just moved from one part of town to the other and with the zip code change it went up 25 bucks from 200.

you guys don't know how good you have it in the states compared to alberta.
we're one of the only provinces left who doesn't have provincially run insurance.
19 year old male, 1 ticket, no accidends.
Lets just say I get quoted about $14/Day for insurance. you can do the math.

I use esurance.com, just make sure you provide all the correct info when you fill everything out. They had me at 157 a month but I goofed on my previous Geico coverage so its not 170 for 6 months. I'm 23 with a wreck and 3 tickets so I thought it was'nt half bad compared to Geico that tried to shove a massive black ***** up my *** for 350 a month for 6 months.
