no way he got a CVT with sun/sound and nav for 21k out the door...

anyways I forgot to mention mine also had several accessory packages including, the fuel door, trunk mat, aluminum door sills, wheel locks, and all the wind deflectors (I had those removed though)... all that stuff was like an extra 600, but I had it included in the 21.5k sale price

Make sure you get your packages at invoice pricing as well. If none of the four dealers in your area cave, call another dealer in another city - even if you have to drive an hour or two. Most times dealers outside of your city will give you a better deal, since they know that they won't get your business if they don't make it good enough for you to drive there.
Well unless edmunds is wrong on the invoice, it is $21,884 before TTL, which means I would be well over $22,000 with GAP and TTL.

$1860.14 tax on $21,884

My salesman would not stop pushing it on me. Got annoying, really. I'm just going off what the Consumer Reports 08 new car buying guide recommended. They say it's a waste, so I'll hold on to the $$.

I actually asked about it first at the dealer, he had a stance for me to just think about it and let them know if I wanted it and then I said well how much would it be to just add it on since he was giving it to me almost at cost (military + student discount). Most places on the internet show that the dealership usually wants $400-500 for the exact treatment so for $215, which broke down to I think $2 more a month I'll just stick with it I think. Even the fabric protection for $215 seems worth it.(although no food or drink other then water in my new baby )

Offical up to date pricing info direct from Mitsubishi.
Pricing is TBD on touring package, and ralliart. Hope the touring package is less than $1500 since we ordered it on like a dozen cars. $25,000+ GTS might be a little bit of a hard sell.

^^ touring package has got to be over 1500, HID lights, ACS, and sensing wipers... I would expect those first two to raise the price at least a grand each

If you can't get a lancer from any dealer for invoice your weak, In the past we've split holdback with customers. I'll sell any in stock lancer for half holdback without a trade. (Just gota ask for it)

Dealer's can get up to $1,250 back from Mitsubishi for hitting sales quotas. We made $53,000 in "stairstep" money. Use the words stairstep and holdback you'll get what you want.

FYI: Hold back for mitsubishi is 3% of BASE MSRP, $539.70 for 5 speed gts, $569.70 for CVT GTS.
Stairstep can vary, there is normaly 80% 100% 150%, so most likely a dealer is always getting money back, this can vary month to month between $500 and $1250 also depending on what level they're at.

Any questions about how much a dealer is really making, just email me. I'm a GSM at a Mitsu dealer.
