Car color advice

Hey all,

I am fairly new to these forums but I have been doing a lot of research lately on the 2009 Lancer GTS. I am in the market for a new car and the looks + price of a fully loaded GTS ends up just about perfect for me.

There are about 4 Mitsubishi dealerships within ~25 miles of me but only one of them has more than 1-2 GTS's. Now, this is my first new car and I just want to make sure that I end up with exactly what I want. The biggest problem I face right now is finding the perfect color.

The Mitsu dealership closest to me has about 2 GTS's with all the options I want (S&S, Nav, M/T) but only in White and Blue. My first choice of color would be black but I was hoping to get some good opinions here. I realize that the dealer can probably find the car with the options + color I want but it could potentially take quite a while and cost extra from what I hear.

Anyways, I would love to get some opinions on color from anyone here who has the 08/09 GTS. I have been starting to like the WW more and more but there is still something irresistible about the black for me. Any thoughts?

I used to have a black car and loved it, unfortunately shortly after buying it, I realized how difficult it is to keep clean. It also shows any imperfections and even the lightest swirl marks. Since I work full time now and just don't have the time to wash my car every other day, I decided on a Graphite Grey lancer gts 09. It looks clean even when I don't wash it for a while and I have not noticed any scratches at all.

Anyways, the decision is up to you, but I would go with either white, silver, or grey, maybe black if u realllly love it. The other colors just look a little to wild and bright for me....

dont be afraid to make the dealers do what you want (especially mitsu dealers, they are the king of snakes)

its a big purchase, you should get what you want for the price you want

It's really up to you. But if you're going to buy black then I suggest you use Spray-On-Wax from Griot's Garage(http://www.griotsgarage.com/product/...C+35+ounces.do) after each wash.It says to apply before you dry your car, but I apply it after. If your careful not getting your car dirty, that wax can last you two weeks. Car will look waaaay cleaner and shiny than a regular car wash.

Ok, no more secrets.lol

Smile Advice on color choice.

I've owned 2 cars so far in my life. The first one was a winning blue rx8. The second is my current one which is a 2006 Tarmac Black Evolution IX MR. From my experience, you may eventually get tired of the brighter colors. I hear that you're headed towards black in the '09 lancer gts. I have black in my evo right now, and it has a very intimidating look factor to it. I've seen numerous '08 lancers and the color white looks the best on it. It looks fantastic, it stands out, it looks much richer than black. The other color option that looked good to me was the winning blue color that I had on my rx8. The bright blue color is a much more fun and energetic color than the black or the white. But since you're heading towards black or white...I would choose the color white in your "09 lancer gts. Good luck with your purchase.

well if u dont want to go through the trouble of waiting for another color, id also say white out of the blue and white choices

its really white! lol i hate those white cars that fade to yellow. pisses me off. but look!..

thats the potential of a white lancer. i think its amazing. i personally have graphite grey. but thats just cause there was no white white when i got mine. and i also didnt want to wait

Ive got a metallic red colour which u dont get in the states (not rally red). Have to say its beautiful, but if I had to rebuy I would have gone with white. Trust me, u wont regret it if u buy white.

White ftmfw!

I owned a white car before this, and went after a white one for the new car. I absolutely love it, and white (IMO) is one of the easiest to keep clean besides the graphite gray.

My toss up was between white and black, and I'm sooooo glad I went with the white.

Also, crazy bright colors like blue will have a harder time selling (when that time comes) because they are not everyones cup o' tea. You can never go wrong with a white or black or neutral color though. Also, just look at last years blue, its already discontinued.

Use the internet to get multiple quotes. Be specific about the trim level, color and options you want. Let them do all the work. You'll be surprised. Make sure you tell them you are ready to purchase (if indeed you are).
