swap 4g18 to 4g63t evo 5 done

Why are you trying to turn an lancer into something great... keep it for commuting and buy a nice 1g talon tsi or eclipse gsx... alot better for "race car applications" they are inexpensive and already AWD turbo....

Again its weird you came onto this forum to post just once about getting the same car you drive. Some would think that was a waste of your own time. Lancers have a nice body shape and if they have the buck they will be unique and go for the bang. Either way the lancer is great. N/A or Turbo.

I just don't see why no one is trying the 4g64 FWD or 4g69 FWD transmissions for these swaps. Yes, Mark is using the evo subframe and mount to my understanding. I know the awd swap is a huge fabrication job and my plan is to stay FWD with one of those two transmissions.

Yeah honestly i would stay FWD also, but what would be the point in going g63 without the AWD setup? My later and future mod would be the GDI engine with the turbo.

If I wanted an evo, I'd go buy one, assuming I can get a job to afford one, or a job in general would be nice. I really don't want the label of an evo wanabe, fake evo, or why didn't you buy an evo person. Personally, I hate to say it, I would like to break it down to the easiest possible and treat it like a Honda and just drop in a motor with minimal work. You ask what the point would be without awd, I ask you why the 95-99 Eclipse GS-T was created. LOL. In the case I did go awd, I still wouldn't label it as an evo. That wouldn't be right. I would label is as a Juan Martinez Customs Edition OZ Rally Lancer. On the other hand, if I took a 93-01 Mirage and done the swap, I would label it as an evo. Shame on you American Mitsubishi for not giving us that years ago.

LOL. I like how you said a job in general would be nice. Well the GS-T is a entirely different car just cause it has the g63 doesn't mean its a lancer. If i ever swap in the GDI AWD from the sports edition lancer. I would use your theory and call it the DR JON Lancer CEDIA conversion. The way i think of it is your building your car the way you want it. Making it perform better. Not changing it into something else.Lil Evo did it how come noone yells at him lol.

Sweet. Thats what I like to see. I have a couple of questions.
1. Do you have any more pics? Car and build?
2. How was the wiring? Hard to do? Plug right up?
3. Did you use evo front spindles?

1.i lost all the pics for the build..i'll post some more pics for the car soon..
2.the wiring wasnt hard.it can be done in the same day...the only problem is we couldnt get the airbag to work..the light is always on.
3.yes i did..i took the whole thing actually from an evo.hubs,spindles.rotors and calipers they were all connected.and they fit right on (no mods needed) even if u are keeping the lancer coil overs.
but i am having this problem now..i got the front wheel bolt pattern 5x114.3
and the rear is 4x100..
still looking for a solution for the rear hubs..i wanna make them 5 bolts as well
i dont know if any one got any ideas..
