Question about 15k mile service and state inspection at same time (2009 Lancer GTS)
My car is due for a MA state inspection this month and I'm also near 15k miles on the odometer.
I'm planning on going to the dealership in a few days and I know they are going to try and hassle me into paying for a state inspection and my regularly scheduled service separate. Doesn't the inspection cover most of the 15k mile service except for tire rotation and an oil change?
I have a K&N air filter that I can clean myself, I wont need that part of the service and nor will I need the cabin air filter replaced, I bought one of those myself for 10$ and can swap it out in a few mins.
Anyone else have a similar situation? How did you handle it at the dealer? I want to make sure they don't give me some BS about how if I don't do what they say my car won't be covered under warranty.
All I should need is the regular state inspection, and a separate oil change and tire rotation, correct? Oh yea and Im going to ask about that recall on the brake booster system.

umm... it sounds like you don't need your dealer to do anything except the state inspection. Why don't you bring your car to a different shop to do it?
I doubt they will hassle you about getting the 15k maintenance service if you request them you just want to get your car to get the state inspection.
