lancer vs. ???
i was reading about the lancer (not Evo) in various magazines and the overall consensus was that it was over-priced and slow. why do you guys like em so much? also, what are the lancer's rivals?

Let's see you got Civics, Neons, Focus, Corollas, Cavaliers (I think)...and...that's about it off the top of my head.
We like 'em so much because they're OUR cars! It's my car I've bought and paid for on my own and it gets me from point A to point B and is fun (if not a bit soft in the corners) to drive.

i wasn't trying to bash lancers or anything. I'm just looking for a cool car that i can customize, and was reading and found some flames pointed in the direction of the lancer. anyway, which of the cars above would you recommend, ASIDE from the lancer? thanks

it wasn't actually the magazine, it was online, but i guess i still didn't look hard enough. right now i drive a 1968 mercury cougar, fully restored. but it's not an everyday car, and that's why i'm looking for a new one.

Ah yeah, Personally I don't think the lancer's necessarily over-priced it's a nice car for what you pay.
It's not an F'n spacerocket but like "P" said it will get you from point A to point B for the most part. Civic's and Focus out of the above list will have the most mods IMO. Cavaliers 95+ aren't bad an they have some stuff out there that can be done to improve their performance.

I think the majority of people who read that post would agree an I wasn't exactly flaming moreless trying to make a point.
120 hp. lancer 5 spd. with a passenger vs. 160 hp 02 hatch 5 spd. no passenger. Think it out for yourself does everything fit together in that equation?

I think civics are nicely manufactured cars. I favor 92 - 95 hatch's more then most other honda's in the class (prelude, accord, del sol, etc..). Their fully modable cars, along with their quality. I've been a Honda person for quite some time an will continue.

IMO I think ITR's have alot of Import mods you can get which used in the U.S here I saw some for about $22,500 in the newest AT. RSX's are pretty modable but they start getting closer to $25 to $28 thousand. If you would happen to get an RSX get the Type-S... It's worth the little extra you'd have to pay.
