Pajero Evolution

Pajero Evolution
Mention the name Mitsubishi and most car fans think of big 4x4s or the EVO range of road-going rally cars. Combine the two, and you have what could be the most fearsome mud-plugger ever – the Shogun/ Pajero Evolution. And here is the official picture...
The car is the first creation of the firm's new chief engineer Oliver Boulay, and the futuristic lines are radically different to the boxy look of its last hot off-roader, sold in Japan as the Pajero Evolution.
SUVs that use a coupé-shaped body and 4x4 chassis aren't new – Porsche's Cayenne and VW's Multi-Activity Concept (MAC), will be in showrooms soon. But with a strong rally heritage behind it, this car, which is on display at the Frankfurt Motor Show, is being seen as a test bed for a production model.
With Mitsubishi having proven its expertise in turning the sedate Lancer into an awesome rally racer and a highly tuned street-legal sports car, the Evolution promises to be an outrageous vehicle. The first model was built for competition in the legendary Paris/Dakar rally, and this new car also has the desert event in mind, with former race winner Jutta Kleinschmidt involved in the design. The sleek and aggressive looks will be matched by state-of-the-art technology and enormous power. Under the bonnet is a 3.5-litre V6 and the car also features hi-tech stability systems.

Believe it or not, the car I posted at the top is growing on me. If it ever became a reality and went on sale, I could be tempted.
Thank god for the like of Mitsubishi and Subaru who make 'odd' performance cars and dont give in to tree huggers (Greens) who want to remove cars from our road, or worst still make them bland and unenjoyable.
