sunroof problem

hey guys. might have already been a thread but....

my sunroof just now started to act weird. it will pop up, but it will not slide all the way back. when i push the button, it acts like it wants to go back but it looks like there is something catching it.

has anyone else had this problem?

yea sorry bro. it does sound like the motor though.

But my freind has an mx-3 and his sunroof does the same thing. it keeps getting off track or something so hes gotta give it a little nudge to get it going.

There is a thread already about how to remove the roof liner and put back missing screws into the motor. My sunroof has been stuck closed for the last year... I just haven't had the time to get around to attempting a fix.

Here's the link to the thread:
How to fix a stuck sunroof

Good luck

i had a problem where mine would open but i actually had to pull it by hand to close it while pushing the button i have an 2003 lancer evolution 8 and all my prob was that i had to take my headliner down and the two bolts that hold the motor on to the chassis are also the ground the were loose after i tightened them up it worked like brand new just as a forwarning be prepared to buy new visor clips they are fun to remove with out breaking them

check and make sure that the sunroof motor is tightly to the body under the headliner if it cant ground out it won work and can short them out and fry them

no no wait
i had that similar problem with mine
it cant be a fuse or a wire!
cause well the sunroof is connected to the primary wires at the engine, so theres no way it fails.
mine was out for a few months and god was i pissed! but the only thing is that how the glass was screwed made it not work, it has to be on some sort of angle.
its all that is man, the angle its screwed in, cause actually the motor realises that it cant go further away so thats why its making it stop there and thus just cause it rubs. so give it an angle and your all set.
