Question on tinting my 2010 Lancer GTS
I just bough my 2010 Lancer GTS and it came with the sun and sound package but not tinted windows. I ask the dealer about tinting and all he said is that they won't do it cause the rubber at the base of the window is too hard. He said it scratches the tint and ruin it. I want to know if that is true or not and if it is what can be done to tint the windows? Or am I just out of luck with tinting the windows?

you can either go to a fabric store and get a piece of felt (black) lay the felt out on concrete or an old wooden door (what i did) and use a 2x4 to make a straight edge, take a razor and cut away at the felt until you get 4 pieces that will fit you rwindow seals
then use 3m spray adhesive and install the felt
or you can go to tintprotector.com there stuff is already adhesived-backed . but let me warn you sometimes the adhesive comes off and leaves residue on your windows, a simple clean will get it off just dont wait more than a day else its harder to remove. also after about 9 months the entire felt started to peel up (glue dried out) so i bought a can of 3m adhesive spray and reattached them...2 months since then and no problems.
the fabric store felt example is not just an idea its what i did for my brother on his 08 es, he didnt want to pay 30.00 for a felt kit and since hes away at college i couldnt install it for him either so when he was in town for thanksgiving i went to a fabric store and got the felt, its been 2 months and he hasnt reported any problems...the felt was like 3.50 a yard (plenty) and the adhesive spray was 4.00 and a pack of razor blades was 1.50
