^what he said.

I spent like $250 just to find out I could have done it myself for way cheaper with parts from home depot.

if you want to pay for the name, then go for it but its not like other things where you want a name. all it is is an intake. just get an ebay one and put that on. it will do the same thing for a much lower price. if you really want a k and n or aem still get the ebay kit and then buy the k and n filter for it. it will do same thing....

^^ speaking of that i think i still have a maf adapter plate from my lancer laying somewhere...hmmm ill have to find that....

biggest thing ^^^ there is getting rid of the factory filter setup. that restricts a lot of air flow

i chose the K&N one mainly because it is C.A.R.B. legal (California) so I dont have to put my original intake on when its time to smog my car again.

I have a MAF adapter just like this one and was wondering if you need to use any adhesive on the adapter and MAF to seal it up? I'm doing EXACTLY what is pictured and have my MAF adapter and filter ready to go.

Thanks,
Jake

The thing is, I want the cold air intake closer to my grill instead of right next to the battery.

there should be a seal around the outside of the maf to seal everything up. no need for other sealants

Thanks JRR. Was just wondering because I bought my adapter used and it looked like the last person used a orange sealant on it.
