Tuning E-manage Ultimate
hi everyone i'm doing a turbo conversion on a 04 vrx with 4g94 i'm going to be using a greddy e manage ultimate and wanted to know if i should put the maf after the turbo to get the Hz reading to use for the map sensor conversion but have heard some stories about the honeycomb bit being destroyed any and all advice is greatly appreciated

also my car has the tiptronic auto and i've heard its better to use the tiptronic mode once turbo'd is there any benefit other than being able to rev it out more

really! nothing thats a shame i thought atleast 1 person would have some input.If anyone has any info or links i would really appreciate it as i said any and all info is greatly appreciated

i only ask if the maf should be after the turbo because the map sensor works on pressure and if maf is after turbo then it will give a good reading of map being close to the tb as opposed to being before turbo just a thought is all

do you have any info on what i asked,i need to know all i can only because all the experience i have is with old holden motors and not much in the way of jap motors and the like

No, very few of us have done engine swaps. As far as I know, there aren't many folks tuning with the E-manage. As for where to put the MAF, I have no experience with turbo-charging. Sorry.

MAF would definitely be after the turbo (and near the TB). I've also hear about the honeycomb getting damaged by the boost.
MAP conversion is quite popular in the turbo kits.

yeah i heard map is the way to go i just wasn't sure if i should put the maf in front of the turbo or after to get the correct reading to switch it to map tune

Over here on this side of the pond most peoples MAF is before the turbo. There are reports of it only being able to take so much PSI (Evos + Lancers).
Not saying you cant do it; just theres a limit to how much it can take.
VRX? I thought that was the Ralliart over here. But you say you have a 4G94 engine?

yeah they had the 4g94 and the 4g69 in them i'm planning on running 8psi would the maf handle that much just to get the values to put in for the map tune conversion
