lancer 350 swap

so after blowing up the 4b11 N/A i had in my 2010 lancer es and a electrical failure ive decided to just put a chevy 350 in it i want it RWD and to have some power behind it... ive already got the car stripped and ready to make mounts for the motor but not to sure on what i wana do for a rear end yet anyone got any ideas for a good CHEAP rear end set up? should i go with a multi link or solid axle?

It's doubtful that anybody else has done this so you'll be the one who has to figure out what a good and cheap rear end set up is, whether to go multi link or sold axle, etc.

I doubt it'll happen. This is probably the 10th person claiming to do some crazy swap and none have come through.

He probably tried to strap an evo x turbo on it and didn't adjust the waste gate.

all of this seems very weird,
You can't just slap steel reinforcements and a roll cage, it has to bee engineered if you want it to last.
And you said that you had an N/A then you said that you were running 20 psi, so wich one was it. Do you have any pictures of the setup? Anything?

it definitely isn't an easy swap. civic and neon is not a good example of v8 swaps. what is the point when it would cost a hell of a lot more in fabrication than just to boost their stock motors? civics have a lot of aftermarket parts and potential, a v8 swap would be pointless. v8 swaps are pretty common, but in cars that are already rwd. like the miata or 240sx. To do the Miata with the price of the kit and motor would be around 10k and that's in a car that has a full frame under it and not much fabrication that needs to be done. To do your lancer would cost so much since there has to be R&D work and everything will need fabricated. At least if you're going to do it, put an LS1 in it or something worth the time and effort

Why would you put a chevy engine when your car is a Mitsubishi, esp since there's a bunch of awesome Mitsu engines that you could choose from? Of which, the parts will be readily available & of great quality.

go to tractor supply and get some j-channel, weld them up to stiffen up the chassis. Get 18 rolls of duct tape, paper clips, jb weld, bubble gum, all thread, and a couple john deere tires and you will have one hell of a beast. that should be able to handle the extra 5 cylinders. everyone is doing it. easy swap
