Is aftermarket HID illegal in US?
Well...I just installed 8000K HID kit on my car. It's really bright but a little bit blue to me. And my question is...Is it illegal for installing the aftermarket HID on your car? Did anybody pull over by cop because of HID?

If the kit isn't DOT approved, then yes...it's illegal. Are there any DOT approved kits around? I honestly am not certain.
Of course, for the cop to ticket you, he has to know that the car isn't available with these as an option, but certain wavelengths (like 8000k) with a blue tint might cause you more problems than white or purple tints.

^ Don't just get any bulb. If there are direct replacement bulbs from the SAME kit manufacturer, get them, otherwise you'll probably need to buy a new kit..unless you don't mind your $400 investment to blow up in couple of minutes...
and NO, aftermarket HID kits (or retrofit kits) are NEVER street legal in the US. If you were unlucky enough to be stopped by a cop who just found out his wife had been sleeping with his boss so he could still have his job, then you are pretty much screwed.
Just aim your HID lower so it won't blind the others and you should be fine.

i got 9000k HIDs and i aimed my headlights low as hell so there's no glare.. now i could only see like 2 feet in front of me jk jk. but just park your car next to one with stock lighting. now this gives you a range on how high or low you can put it. all u gotta do is turn the screw here circled in red in a counterclockwise motion according to the picture for both lights. keyword here is counterclockwise BASED on this picture. now the passenger side is easy to get to and all you need is a socket wrench if you wanna do it quick. now the problem arises when u get to the driver's side light because the damn battery is in the way so there's now way in hell you could get a socket wrench to turn the knob. you gotta get a long flathead screwdriver and just stick the tip in the grooves and turn the knob counterclockwise. you'll know what grooves im talking about when you're looking at the light from above and looking at the knob directly. now aim to the desired height and you're done.
