lets get this over with, performance gains for our lancers

ok i hate the fact that i don't even have an educated guess on how much horse power i have with mods. (not wheel hp, just basic hp) i have no braging rights what so ever, cause i don't know jack.

SRI- ?
CAI-?
cat back exhaust, magna flow? axel back? greddy?
header, rrm? rpw? kamakazi?

i have sri and custom 2.25 cat back so far. i tell people i have 128 hp( 8 more than stock) . and like 145 tq.(5 more than stock)

i plan to get rpw headers. so what would my total "basic" hp be.

thanks

remember, all i need are estimates. also if you would like to add intake mani or throttle bodies to this topic feel free to.

i would like to know EACH BOLT ON'S general hp gain. and total it out.

don't flame me for my lack of knowledge(drummerjun....just playing) . or if this topic has been discussed a lot. mods feel free to do whatever you please with it.

well after i do get the rpw headers i was gonna claim i had 150 hp at the most. then i was like na. i' gonna tell people i have 145 hp. does that sound like a good estimate for. sri, exhaust, and rpw header. cause i heard a sri can give you like 4 hp, so i just added another 4 with the exhaust. and rpw said they could weild like 16-19 hp on a stock lancer. i'm just confused as to what it will be. i'm not gonna pay for a freaking dyno either.

i just want peoples opions.

you might have that much power at the crank, but at the wheels you might have 120 after all those mods.

the header will not give you 16-19hp, it more likely will give you 4-8hp

the lancer baselined somewhere around 106 whp and 110 torque for a manual, and i think 98/103 for an auto. the aem cai added 8 hp, but only at about 5500 rpm. you gotta figure where exactly is your catback going to be maximizing power? where is your intake doing the same? what about the header? chances are that they aren't all at the same place, so you wouldn't be able to figure +6 for an exhaust, +4 for an intake, and +8 for a header... you'd be looking more at +10 for all 3. i forget where (maybe i'll run a search later), but one company did do a dyno test for their full exhaust and intake on the lancer and it only yielded around a 7hp total increase. i'm sorry to say it, but anything short of a turbo or some hardcore internals are only giving you the "import sound." you honestly shouldn't be expecting much more than 135-140 at the crank even after your mods.

Import Tuner testing

Sorry to burst your bubble, but after installing an SRI, downpipe w/ test pipe, and complete 2.5" catback system, the gains were:

9 hp
5 tq

So you're currently pushing rougly 130 hp and 135 tq at the flywheel. Adding headers will probably get you another 5 or so.

i'm not sure why you're so concerned with the numbers. most people on the road, unless they are stock, don't have a clue what kind of numbers they have. you spoke of bragging rights earlier, bragging rights is beating a guy. not saying, i have such and such hp. the only true way to ever know is to jump on a dyno, other than that, you're just gonna be guessing.

dude, might as well keep it bone stock, under the hood at least. lancers may be the coolest car on the road, but by far not the fastest. besides it would suck to spend all that money on mods, and still loose.....on the other hand, if your warranty is up, ***it strap a turbo on that thing and really raise hell

I could be wrong. I just have a hard time believing that RPW's headers will add 16-19 hp.

Headers too add that UMPH you will want, but i dotn think 20 hp, maybe 10 i would say.

Ya, and if you have the money, i would just say go Supercharger or Turbo.

I mean, i've spent aroudn 1,000$ on the mods and crap, and still think its a slow car lol. SO i mean, i would of rather waited an extra 6 months and gained 120whp with a supercharger

but thats just my opinion.

i was lucky enough to get a v6 eclipse for the same payment as my lancer was. let me tell you though, the mitsu site says 210hp for my car, but it's probably closer to 185 at the wheels. it's A LOT faster than the lancer and weighs almost twice as much. if you really want to get performance out of your car, go turbo or sds. a non intercooled rrm kit will run you around $3000 and you'll have more at the wheels than i do with my eclipse.

just wait until i'm supercharged tho... 410hp at the crank, 350 at the rims... woot!
