that seems about right cause i ran a 16.82 with just cai and cat back (and rims but there heavire then stock)(expecially since its unsprung weight). I had a crappy start too cause i dont know how to launch...you have to keep in mind that not all lancers are geared the same ( i know its weird but its true)

i'm not brian but i'll answer blown struts will cause the car to "squat" on launch. this will make the front pop up a little and you'll lose traction because of it. if you happen to get adjustable suspension, harden it out all the way in the rear. this will reduce squat and you'll have a better launch.

i've heard of rear spring spacers for drag racing that you can get (i dunno where) that you insert between the coils of the spring to help reduce squat.

God, I bet I could break into the high 15's provided:
1. I get off my lazy *** and get my car Dyno tuned
2. Work on launching...I usually suck big time there

I just haven't been too motivated lately....the lancer crowd in the bay area is weak as far as meets go.

The suspension guru concurs with the engine guru Blown shocks will make the wheels bounce too much, losing traction. As for suspension upgrades; springs, dampeners, sway bars, strut bars, and alignments have little affect on straight line traction in a low hp (and that means under 400 hp) car. Tires and maybe wider but lighter rims are about the only "suspension" upgrade that will help your lancer in the 1/4 mile.

Jeff (Uranium), I would put money on your car being the fastest NA Lancer on here. You've done some mods and research that I am still looking at in trying to develop my car's engine over the next few years.

so yah..as you can guess i spun thru 1st pretty bad..it seemed like no one had grip..i couldn't believe the srt-4 was runnin so slow...one ****ty *** driver as well

i didn't even want to post this since it's so bad..but oh well

there was also another lancer there..first one i've ever seen at the races..it was an automatic ES wand was runnin like 18.6 or so
no evo's present..a few sti's and a few srt-4's...
