stock vs. stock....no way a lancer would win. I hear the mazdaspeed proteges are actually under-rated in hp also, meaning they may put out a little more than advertised. An OZ and a stock Protege (non mazdaspeed) would be more of a race.

 

I dunno about this one, according to my september 2002 issue of car and driver the mazdaspeed protege was rated at 170 and 151 lb-ft. 0-60 mph in 6.9 sec and the 1/4 in 15.4 @ 91 mph and weighing at 2844 lbs.

I know the RSX is rated at 160, but in a straight line, it can suffer because of the I-VTEC kicking in at higher RPM.

But the protege has 50 more horses....

 

BTW, with equal drivers an RSX will beat a stock Lancer.
The Lancer isn't very quick stock.

No a Lancer can not beat a Mazdaspeed without a turbocharger of its own.

 

A stock Lancer against against the Mazdaspeed stands no chance whatsoever.

 

Dude, you have got to post some pics of your ride! I've always liked the IS300, especially the modded ones.

Oh, and a stock OZ could probably get a two car lead over a Mspeed 'tege and still get jacked.

 

Imagine a Lancer debadged, 17 inch Lexus rims, with altezza lights, it would look like a mini-IS300 if you really think about it But anyways, either the RSX was automatic and the Lancer was a super good driver, or the RSX driver mis-shifted. I really don't know how a stock Lancer would beat a stock base RSX.

Toyota Altezzas are wicked. I love the fact it's half luxury/half sporty all combined into one nice car.

 

The Altezza in Japan is wicked. The RS200 version with a 6 speed, and a VVTil 4 banger that puts out 210 HP! My brother in law has one...that thing is so sweet. When I drove it I was very impressed. It zips around Japan. Too bad we don't get that motor in the US Spec. Plus, the Altezza is much cheaper then the Yuppie rebadged IS300. about 2,700,000 JPY.

The Top Secret Supra has the same motor and is making like 720 HP or some ungodly amount in a 4 cyl!

 

I like those Mazdaspeed Protages, the wing they have is badass!

 

A stock lancer will lose to a stock rsx and a mazda speed potege.
However, an Evo Lancer will rape both of them, even if the rsx was a type R.

 

.... DUH an evo vii would beat a nsx, i'd hope it'd rape the rsx type r
