MSD Ignitions/Ignition type systems

Has anyone put an MSD Ignition system or something similar? I just want to know if it is worth my while they are going to charge 220 for the system and 100 for the install. Anyone ever tried one of these out?? They say it adjusts fuel curves, gear ratios and it works on all 4 cyl automatics(best on autos compared to sticks) it's something similar. Has anyone heard of any problems with MSD or any kind of ignition type system like this? Thanks again guys!

I doubt anyone's tried it. MSD didn't make the box for our system (DIS) until recently.

I had an MSD on my civic. It was worthless, did not increase fuel economy, no more horsepower. In fact my car started dying and it was the cause. Not unless youre dealing with huge fuel and air amounts, you just dont need it. Use the money for something else.
my $0.02

The Puerto Rican **** fast OZ got an ingition system to work on his lancer. Problem is that we have a distributorless system and hooking up an ingintion system like MSD will fry the coil packs on 1 and 3....someone tried it.

MSD recently came out with a DIS (distributorless ingition system).

I don't think you can put an ingnition system on the lancer. We have coil packs, they will most likely get fried.

How on earth would it alter the gear ratios? As for the fuel curve, I think the piggyback takes care of that if this MSD unit doesn't work. But as mentioned above, when I think MSD I'm thinking 60s Mustangs and Camaros. Cars with big diplacement, distributors, and carburators.

crikies

msd makes a system for our car. one that is for cars that have no distributor. meaning coil paks are fine and it works fine. don't get it unless you have a turbo and turbo cam. thats the only reason i could forsee you needing one. i don't know where gear ratio's came in but someone shoot them. this is all about getting a better spark, the timeing of the spark etc. nothing to do with fuel curve changes.

what is the world coming to.....
